⇒ Who is Sam Sharma?
Sam “Sorbee” Sharma and Ray Trapani both attended the same high school, with the latter not being a big fan of the former. After school, they came into contact when Ray teamed up with his friend Bert to found Miami Exoctics.
It was Bert who proposed the idea of bringing Sam Sharma into the company as an employee, which Ray accepted despite his reluctance, although he said that Sam Sharma was rarely the face of the company.
However, when Miami Exotics began to seem like an idea doomed to failure, Sam Sharma approached Ray with the idea of creating a cryptocurrency company. In the Netflix documentary, Ray admitted that he had little to no idea about cryptocurrencies at the time, but Sam Sharma was certainly very enthusiastic about this modern form of currency.
Together, they decided to create a new company called Centra Tech, which claimed to tackle one of the biggest problems cryptocurrency owners seemed to face: using their blockchain currency in everyday transactions.
