⇒ Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Ending Explained?
At the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters unbeknownst to Keiko, Lee also traveled to the Monster World a few years after his presumed death. After what he thought was a week, he returned to Earth, but he did not do so willingly. He was sucked into the portal after a Titan appeared.
At the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters now that he is back, Lee is looking for the capsule in which he came to the World of Monsters. For him, it’s been years, but for the capsule, it’s only been a few weeks, so it’s not too damaged or torn. It is in good enough condition to house four people and take them home.
With Keiko’s help, Lee manages to connect the capsule to the device she used to create the SOS signal. All that’s missing is for a Titan to arrive and activate the portal so they can pass through it. The capsule contains the device used to attract the Titans. The portal is finally activated and, as planned, the capsule is sucked inside, taking its passengers home. But not everyone returned at the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters.
When the portal is activated, the pod is sucked in its direction, but too much weight immobilizes it. At that moment, Lee clings to Keiko’s hand, who tries her best not to let him fall. When he realizes that the portal will soon close and that he will have to get rid of a dead weight, he decides to let go of Keiko’s hand.
At the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters, as he falls, the capsule flies away and is brought back to Earth. We don’t know if Lee falls to his death or if he simply falls and survives, which leaves a glimmer of hope for his survival.
Eventually, Cate, May, and Keiko are saved, in part through their efforts to escape the Monster World. As soon as they leave the capsule, they realize that something is different.
At the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters, they know they are not with Monarch, but they relax when Kentaro appears, before being shocked when they discover that about two years have passed since they fell into the portal.
The passage of time also places the trio in an unexpected position. They don’t know anything about Apex, at least Cate and Keiko do. May worked for them briefly, but she knows Apex is no better than Monarch.
At the end of Season 1 of Monarch Legacy of Monsters, they could well be worse. But there’s nothing she can do right now, because it seems like Kentaro, Hiroshi, and Tim are already immersed in whatever Apex is doing, and after the rescue, she, Cate, and Keiko are stuck with them as well.
