⇒ Is Nowhere inspired by a true story?
No, the movie“Nowhere” is not based on a true story, but screenwriter Indiana Lista inspired the film from her book Lista. The film tells the unreal story of Mia, a pregnant woman trying to escape her country, which was disintegrated by civil war.
Mia hides inside a cargo ship container amidst the harsh conditions, trying to stay alive and protect herself and the baby that appeared inside her.
Although the movie is not inspired by a true story, it reflects the real lives of immigrants, and director Albert Pinto stated that the screenwriter Lisa knew many Mexican immigrants who tried to hide inside a shipping container in order to cross the border.
Indiana List narrates the suffering of immigrants in the form of a story for the exclusive movie “Nowhere”. Director Albert and his team also confirmed that shipwrecks are common in Spain, and thus these incidents were integrated into the story in order to make the story more realistic.
